While the support for these organizations is important, it is also necessary to think about programs that help millions of survivors cope with this deadly disease. Casting for Recovery is a non-profit organization that organizes fly-fishing retreats specifically for breast cancer survivors.

Laubach Literacy Council of San Diego County is a 100% volunteer not-for-profit organization actively promoting literacy by: ¨ Providing tutors to teach foreign-born adults English as a Second Language (ESL) ¨ Offering an opportunity to learn English one-on-one or in small groups ¨ Conducting Tutor Training Workshops for volunteers desiring to teach English ¨ Holding classes at locations throughout San Diego County, including eight County libraries As a current Board Member of the Laubach Literacy Council of San Diego County, Inc. and the Editor of its quarterly newsletter “The Key”, it is my pleasure to volunteer my time to such a worthy organization.
